Birthday Perks: Free Meals and Treats!
Hi, and welcome to this new series—Free and Cheap Fridays! For these weekly posts, I share quick tips and ideas for free and cheap activities you can do with your family or items you can buy for free or cheap.
Today I want to talk about a fun topic—your birthday! On your special day, why not enjoy some inexpensive or even free perks? Even if you’re rapidly approaching middle age, like me, I hope that your birthday is still one of your favorite days each year! 🙂 And one of the things that I look forward to for my birthday is eating at my favorite restaurant, which also has the best birthday perk that I know of. (That’s not why it’s my favorite, but it sure is a wonderful coincidence!)
Many restaurants give you a free dessert or even a free meal on your birthday, so you might as well take advantage of that! My favorite restaurant, Tucano’s (a Brazilian eatery), offers a free meal (all you can eat Brazilian churrasco with salad and side dishes bar) to birthday celebrators with the purchase of another meal—and you can go any day of the month of your birthday. It’s a pretty sweet deal (literally—theyre grilled pineapple is delicious! 😊).
Here are some of the other birthday perks offered by various restaurants*:
Applebee’s—a free entrée
Arby’s—a free sandwich
Baskin Robbins—free ice cream scoop
Burger King—a free Whopper
California Pizza Kitchen—a free dessert
The Cheesecake Factory—free small cup of ice cream
Chili’s—free chips and guacamole
Cold Stone Creamery—a free ice cream
Cracker Barrel—free dessert
Dairy Queen—buy one get one free Blizzard or Royal Blizzard
Del Taco—free shake
Denny’s—free grand slam breakfast
Dippin’ Dots—a free cup of dippin’ dots
Einstein Brothers Bagels—a free egg sandwich
Golden Corral—a free buffet
IHOP—free stack of pancakes
Jack in the Box—free dessert

P.F. Chang’s—free dessert

Red Robin—a free gourmet burger or chicken sandwich
Rubio’s Fresh Mexican—a free entrée

Even if your favorite restaurant isn’t listed here, call them up to find out if they do anything special for birthdays. It never hurts to ask!
If you haven’t taken advantage before of free food on your birthday, plan to do so this year! It’s your special day, so you might as well be rewarded with free calories! Visit one of your current favorites, or try someplace new! Bon appetit!
What is your favorite restaurant birthday perk? What great offers did I neglect to include in this list? Leave a comment and let us know! I would love to know your thoughts!
